MICROCHIP MUSIC VIDEO W/ JAH SUN

Well, a few months ago I was the one man band then we added filmmaker Chris Kas to the team. . Then we became the 2 man show .We've now shot 6 music videos together. Now we are lucky enough to bring in filmmaker Sky Pinnick for our latest music video shot on the RED. Sky will be the DP on this one and it will mark the first time I've ever handed over the camera operation duties to anyone. Massive respect to Sky who is a knowledgable DP on the RED. "Microchip" by Jah Sun w/ The far East Band ft. Stevie Culture is sure to be a hit with its Greman electronica foundation . We'll be documenting the behind the scenes so look for that footage very soon. thx for following everyone.

BACK HOME FROM ARCATA CALI

We just got back from our trip to Arcata to shoot music videos for Jah Sun and Ishi Dube. But we also shot 2 more videos for Woven Roots and Collective Elements. or at least got started. Collective Elements brought in a fresh new funky tune about the green.....or purple I should say. the tune is called "Superpurplefunkalistic" . The Collectve Elements is made up of 3 very different and very talented hiphop artists. Biggs, mexichron, and Tanasa Ras. The song will have you singing along. We also began work on Woven Roots's debute music video "Amazon" an environmetally charged tune about the destruction of the largest ain forest in the world. The Front man Travis is very animated character with a great look for film.

The trip began with green screen work on all the artists as soon as we arrived and continued the next day with the 2 major scenes for Jah Sun's song "Jamaica". A school scene and a huge packed club scene that went better than we could have ever expected. The next day we shot Ishi Dube. singing on the beach and in fronty of some cool textures as well as under a fake rain storm which came out really well. We'll be heading back to Arcata to finish Ishi's video as well as Woven Roots in a few weeks but now we have to get started on Microchip.

SOUTH TO ARCATA,CALIFORNIA

Heading south to Arcata, California to shoot 2 more music videos. We'll be starting out with Jah Sun and his latest track "Jamaica" about the tiny little island with the mega-huge vibez. Its the third instalment in te trilogy of videos built for the carribean audience. We'll also be shooting with Ishi Dube for his latest track "Like Rain".

Super excited to break out the Kessler Crane. We're getting used to it and have some new ideas for these next projects. We're trying to step it up with each production so we'll se how it goes.

Along for the shoot also is Chris Kas who has been a huge help (he's my third eye) joining the FARfromEARTH team since "Future Cops" w/ Essential I & Promoe and also "Meditation" w/ Jah Sun and Queen Omega. Chris Kas is filling the shoes of assistant director/art director/prop master/ and overall mega-hitter on the set. He's part of the "stepping it up" process that has been going on at FARfromEARTH. anyway look from some stills by Chris Kas......yet another invaluable role he fills. Ok see on the flipside!!

Some people ask me why I always speak of myself in the....is it first person or 3rd, I think its 3rd buts its really just an internet visibility thing. typing in keyword like lets say...um Tim Cash will help send you here if i say something like Tim Cash is hard at work on a music video with California based musician Jah Sun. so please dont think less of me just trying to brand the name throughout the internet.....I guess. anyway, here are some stills from the "Meditation" music video shoots that took place in Bend Oregon and in Arcata, California. anyway I'll stop blogging on this project soon and should have it posted within a few days. Winter is in full swing and Tim Cash has been shooting and editing music videos as of late. "Its been real fun and a dream come true. We've booked quite a few allready this year" . Currently in post on Jah Sun & Queen Omega's song "Meditation". Then back down to Arcata to shoot the video for "Jamaica" also with Jah Sun. After that we will begin pre-production on "Microchip" Jah Sun's latest collaboration with the Far East Band. Also ft. on the track is Stevie Culture. A wonderful soul we've had the pleasure to work with.

Jah Sun and Tim Cash have collaborated together wonderfully and continue to keep the train Rollin.

The new season of Adventure Guides just began on the Outdoor Channel with the season premiere starring Chuck Woolery of Love Connection fame. In late November we made a special trip down to Humboldt County California to shoot a music video with Reggae HipHop sensation Jah Sun. Joining him on this track and video are Perfect and Stevie Culture from Jamaica. This tune will surely penetrate the masses. in fact my son is singing it right now "Do Good Good Good". With its positive message this is sure to be a hit in the Caribean ad hopefuly all around the world. ENJOY!!!!

BACK TO THE GARDEN

Well Back to The Garden has been having a good run over the last 6 months in the film fest circuit. it won the Best Of Washington Award at the Ellensburgh Film Fest. and i just heard we were only 3 votes shy of the audience award at the Bendfilm fest. It was quite a fun piece to work on. i was the editor by the way. and got the chance to work with a seasoned professional in Kevin Tomlinson. He was great to work with and i think we were a great team. maybe get to work with him again in the future.

Anyway if you get the chance the film is showing at the Olympia Film Fest in November. and after that is Santa fe and then the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Fest in Nevada city.

Pure Water is More Precious Than Gold

Just a few weeks ago an album(made in 1992) landed in my hands made by a group of environmentalist. The group called themselves The Environmental Impact Statement. and thats what the album was. it took my breath away and made me cry. the songs touched me right off the bat. and ofcourse since the album tells the story of a troop trying to fight off a multi-million dollar gold company that would have put in a scinide leach gold mine above their land which would contaminate the watershed for centuries.

Sounds like a good story to tell so here we are trying to raise funds to begin work on a new doc about these fearless folks wiling to go head to head with one of the worlds largest gold companies at the time. A journey which has now spanned almost 25 years.
